About

So our marketing guys tell us this is where we are supposed to impress you by telling you about all of the accolades we’ve received. We’re supposed to boast about the music critics’ rave reviews concerning our music, about all of the headlining acts we’ve supported on tour, all of the critically acclaimed albums we’ve released, the exclusive and prestigious venues we’ve played, etc. etc. To be honest, none of that really applies to us.

You see, that’s what we are. Two honest guys who eat, sleep, and breathe music and whose friendship has thrived over the years largely based on the fact that we have a mutual passion for all things music – particularly of the type we make. We’ve taken to calling it New Wave Noir because again, our marketing guys tell us we need to have an identity, or a USP (Unique Selling Proposition), to make this work on a commercial level. We’re not really here to make a ton of money – yeah, it would be nice to break even so we’re not bleeding money, but in reality, we really just want what we create to be heard and enjoyed. We have other jobs. We’re professionals in other fields, so that’s why we don’t crank out large volumes of music. We like to think what we do generate is quality stuff. We believe our creations reward patience, and we are quite serious about our final product.

So what makes us more than just a couple of middle-aged, spare-bedroom-studio, college-band-glory-days-reliving pals who casually record a song or two every so often? Why should you listen to our music? Consider our experience in the music business gathered over our collective years that enable us to do what we do:

  • Band geeks from an early age.
  • Radio DJ. (also weddings, sororities, private parties, you name it …)
  • Sound engineer for local, regional, national, and international musicians.
  • College cover band Secret October.
  • Professional concert photographer for bands such as NIN, The Human League, Devo, etc.
  • 18 years as trombonist in professional symphony.
  • Music critic for online alternative music magazine.
  • General audiophiles since ears appeared on heads.

Since our reunion in 2018 after some years on opposite coasts of the United States, we have issued three EPs, the latest being STATIONARY NOMAD (a fourth is in the final production stages right now). In general, our chosen format for every EP we release is to include one song continuing a developing storyline in a noir type narrative which involves a protagonist in a bit of a bind and a femme fatale who seems to be pulling the strings. But the true details of what is really going on are yet to be fully revealed. There is usually a cover song on each EP as well, interpreted in our own musical style, but in a way that still pays homage to the band we are paying tribute to. The other two songs (there are usually four per EP) are either completely new songs from us, or perhaps a more ambient remix of one of our originals.
